Pairs Championship Salver

10" Diameter silver plate on four legs.

Robertson Individual Cup

Silver cup with three handles approximately 3.75" tall

Presented by Mr Robertson in 1954 to be played for by the 20 Wednesday players with the highest number of points won in the year.  The points were awarded as follows:

This method of calculating points was abandoned on the grounds that it took longer to calculate who was eligible than to play the event.

Mr Robertson served several years on the Committee during the 1950s and acted as Vice-Chairman.  The cup is now open to be played for by all Members.

Watson Flitch

3.5" Silver bowl, separate base.

Presented in 1957 by Mrs Watson in memory of her husband who was a Founder Member and first President of the Club.  Mrs Watson herself was the first Hon. Secretary and stayed in that post for six years.

Presented by Edgar and Nancy Owen in 1962, originally for the Friday Individual – now dedicated to the annual Teams of Four event ranked as the Club's second major championship and thus attracting 11 x the normal basic scale of Master Points.  Both Edgar and Nancy served on the Committee, Edgar having been Auditor for a time and Treasurer.

Cicely Caro Cup (formerly the Caro Cup)

7" Silver goblet with two handles.

Presented by Jack and Cicely Caro in 1962 for a mixed pairs' event.  Jack and Cicely had served on the Committee for many years – Jack as Chairman and President and Cicely as Secretary and Treasurer.

After Cicely died in 1968 Jack asked that the Cup be renamed the Cicely Caro Cup.  Jack later married Myrtle who all current members (1999) know.

Vi Bulman

6" Silver cup with two handles and a lid.

Presented by Cyril Bulman in memory of his wife who, together with Cyril, was a Founder Member and served on the Committee.  Cyril Bulman was one of two blind members the Club had.  For this reason the Club always used to give special consideration to donating to a variety of charities for the blind.  A special set of duplicate boards with Braille playing cards was kept for when these members attended.  Cyril was Chairman for many years.

The cup is awarded to the winners of a pair's event each year.

Kirsch Cup and Johnson Cup

Presented by Mr and Mrs Kirsch and Mr and Mrs Johnson in 1963.  The Kirsch Cup was for a Ladies' Pairs and the Johnson Cup for Men's Pairs.  Mr and Mrs Kirsch both worked very hard for the Club in the 1950s and 1960s as did Johnny and Marjorie Johnson.  Both couples were Founder Members.

Olly Biro

7.5" Silver goblet on a separate black base.

Presented in memory of Olly by her sister Illy Vidor in 1970.  In a tribute to Olly it was said that "Olly, despite a somewhat irascible manner at the table, endeared herself to all and was a great supporter of the Club".  Olly generally came to the Club without a partner (but always with a generous supply of sweets) so it was decided that the Cup should be played for in a cut for partners' event.

Haycocks Trophy

Presented in 1974 in memory of Norah and her husband Bert to be played for in an annual match between Beckenham and Farnborough.  The trophy was donated by Councillor Pascoe, Norah's brother.

Ingram Punch Bowl

Massive bowl 7" tall and 12" in diameter.

Presented in 1960 by Harry Ingram who was an international player and member of Beckenham.  Both Harry and his wife Eileen (who incidentally lives in the same block of flats as Molly Mann) worked very hard for the Club.  Eileen was Club Captain for many years.  The Bowl is awarded to the player who has the highest average of his or her ten best scores in a year and to have achieved these scores should only have played with the same partner three times.

On her death Maud left a legacy to the Club with which it was decided to purchase a Trophy to be awarded to the winners of the teams event played by those teams which were knocked out on the first round of the main Knock-Out Teams event above plus any other teams (approved by the committee) which were unable to play in the first round of the event.  Maud was a Founder Member.

Scott Machray Trophy

Presented in 1982 by Mrs Machray in memory of her husband.  Scott was always interested in helping the less experienced players.  Because of this it was originally intended for a restricted pairs event.  It has always proved difficult to organise this event and it was last presented to the winners of a two session Swiss Pairs in the season 1997/98.

The Rose Bowl
